FAQ

Is Areto a therapist?

No. Areto is a tool for reflection and noticing patterns. It doesn't diagnose and doesn't replace psychotherapy. If you feel you need professional help — see a specialist.

Can I use it without tasks and progress?

Yes. Just open "Talk" and talk as you are. The ladder and XP are for those who find gamified motivation helpful.

What if I missed several days?

No problem. Areto doesn't punish you for gaps. Come back and continue — your context is saved.

Why is "Day Review" only visible in the evening?

In the evening the central orb switches from "Talk" to "Evening review" — a structured reflection on your day. It appears after 18:00 if you haven't done a review yet today; at other times it's hidden to keep the screen clean. You can also launch a review with a bot command.

What are "open loops"?

Topics you raised in conversation but didn't follow through on. Areto reminds you about them on the home screen — it's not an obligation, just an invitation to return.

Can I export my data?

There's no public export right now. Write via /help — we'll figure it out individually.

Are Areto's voice replies mandatory?

No, by default the bot replies in text. Voice replies are optional.

Why only one task per day?

So it actually fits into your day rather than becoming another item on a list. The quality of the observation matters more than the quantity of tasks.
